Happy Bastille Day

No earth shattering and profound words of wisdom today. I just wanted to wish you a Happy Bastille Day with a cheese board with brie from France,  a local Chevre - Kimball MN, and the best Bleu in the world ( in my opinion ), also local - Amblu from Fairibault Mn


A few fresh cherries,  some nuts, crackers, and a bottle of Vouvray to finish the meal.

June really stunk!

Wow, I sure am glad June is done! Between the grad parties, violent storms and just plain old crappy weather,  I think we were able to spend about 10 hours total grillin and chillin on the deck.
We did get one nice night with our friends Joannie and Mark enjoying some homemade guacamole and salsas with a pitcher or two of my special mojitos.

Paul's special mojito recipe:
1 can frozen limeade concentrate
(Save the can for the rum)
1 realy big handful of fresh mint save a few leaves for garnish
1 canfull of rum - regular NOT spiced - more if desired
2 cans of diet lemon lime soda
2 limes
Ice

In a large pitcher muddle together the limeade concentrate and mint
Add the rum and stir
Add the soda and ice to fill pitcher. Taste and add more rum if needed.
Squeeze the juice of one of the limes into the pitcher and cut the other into slices.
Pour into glasses and garnish with a slice of lime and some mint.
Sorry I didn't get a picture,  but these don't usually sit around long enough.
